Binghamton Police say a Johnson City man apprehended after an incident at Recreation Park on June 1, 2026.
Police say that at 5:30 p.m., two children were approached by an unknown male who asked them odd questions and offered them ice cream. Authorities further claim that at one time, the man extended his hand towards one of the youngsters.
The children reported the incident to a park employee, who was able to photo the suspect car.
The suspect, Naim Islam, was recognized as 27 years old.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of attempted kidnapping in the second degree.
He was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and sent to the County Jail.
