A 29-year-old woman was apprehended by Michigan State Police a month after allegedly shooting and killing a 34-year-old man at his home in Flint.
According to court documents, O’Kneea Hellems was arraigned Wednesday in Genesee County District Court on counts of first-degree murder, domestic violence, and six weapons offenses.
She is accused of shooting a 34-year-old victim inside a home in the 5700 block of Edwards Avenue on Flint’s north side at 11:10 p.m. May 2. Emergency personnel performed life-saving efforts, but the victim died on the site.
Michigan State Police have not released any information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the suspected purpose for the event.
Hellems remains in prison at the Genesee County Jail, with no bond set, awaiting a probable cause hearing on June 11th.
