A 17-year-old boy died and several others were injured after a Dodge Charger carrying eight teens collided early Sunday morning in Adelanto.
On June 7, 2026, at approximately 2:37 a.m., deputies from the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station responded to an accident near Rancho Road and Lilac Road, along with staff from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and American Medical Response.
Authorities stated a 2013 Dodge Charger was heading eastbound on Rancho Road at high speed with eight occupants when the driver lost control near the Lilac Road intersection.
According to a published statement by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle went off the road and rolled onto its side. The Dodge Charger has five seats.
Authorities said that at least one individual was ejected during the incident. Six people were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, and a 17-year-old died as a result of his injuries. His identity has been suppressed pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Regional Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) came to the scene and took over the investigation.
Rancho Road was closed for around six hours as investigators reviewed evidence and interviewed witnesses.
The investigation is underway.
