An Ohio man said he had to go dumpster diving after discovering he had accidentally thrown away a $100,000 scratch-off lottery ticket.

The Willard homeowner informed Ohio Lottery officials that he panicked when he noticed the Bingo 25 Times 25 ticket he had purchased from the Circle K on Walton Street in Willard had unintentionally ended up in the garbage.

The man claimed he had to go dumpster diving to get the ticket.

It was exceedingly fortunate that he discovered his error before the trash was collected, as the ticket turned out to be a $100,000 winner.

The individual was able to claim his prize and received $73,250 after tax withholdings.
