2 suspects wanted in Mississippi officer-involved shooting apprehended, MBI says

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs, 18, and Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs, 19, were found and apprehended at about 1:20 a.m. on June 9 with no further incident.

Mississippi authorities were looking for the two in connection with an officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 8 at around 3:38 p.m. in Mount Olive, the bureau said.

The bureau issued a Blue Alert, stating that the males were believed to be armed and dangerous and could be found in the 200 block of South Bluff Street in Mount Olive, Covington County.

Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs was described by the MBI as an 18-year-old black boy wearing a black hoodie, standing 5 feet 6 and weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs was described as a 19-year-old black boy wearing a camouflage sweatshirt, standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, according to the agency.

Anyone with information should call 911 or the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at 855-642-5378, the bureau stated.
