A collision between a car and a DART train in northeast Dallas on Sunday left one person dead and two others injured, officials said.
Just before 5 p.m., a vehicle-train accident took place at Royal Lane and Audelia Road, the Dallas Police Department reported.
DART said in a release that a personal vehicle crossed onto the tracks and was struck by a Blue Line train.
The vehicle’s driver was pronounced dead, and their identity hasn’t been confirmed yet. DART reported that two train passengers sustained minor injuries.
Train service was suspended between LBJ/Skillman and White Rock, DART said, and a bus bridge was set up to transport passengers between the affected stations.
“The incident near Lake Highlands Station has been repaired,” DART said just after 10 p.m. “Blue Line trains are resuming normal operations; however, it may take time to recover regular scheduled service. Thank you for your patience.”
