UPDATE: Portland police said late Monday night that 84-year-old Geraldine Jackson was Located safe. She was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

ORIGINAL: Portland police are searching for an 84-year-old woman who went missing on Monday morning, citing concerns for her safety in the increasing summer heat.

Geraldine Jackson, 84, was last seen around 6 a.m. at her home in the 11000 block of Southeast Division Street.

On Monday, police published a photograph showing Jackson on a westbound TriMet bus. They say she boarded the bus at Southeast Powell Boulevard and I-205 at 6:43 a.m. and got off at Northwest 6th Avenue and Northwest Flanders Street at 7:25 a.m. She was last spotted at 7:36 a.m. crossing Northwest Irving Street.

Detectives and loved ones said they are worried for her health “for a variety of reasons, including the extreme temperatures.”

Jackson is characterized as standing about 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, and having blue eyes and black and gray hair. She was last spotted dressed in a pink t-shirt, black leggings, and white Reebok sneakers.
