Assistant store manager taken into custody for theft in Canutillo

A 32-year-old assistant store manager was taken into custody after allegedly stealing money from his workplace in Canutillo, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Eduardo Aleman was detained and charged with theft of property. He was booked into El Paso County Detention Facility on a $10,000 bond. He was charged with stealing for more than $2,500 but less than $30,000.

On December 22, 2025, deputies were summoned to a Speedway gas station at 280 Canutillo-La Union Road to investigate an alleged theft.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the store manager informed deputies that the assistant store manager, ultimately identified as Aleman, stole money from the business over several months.

During the inquiry, investigators acquired an arrest warrant for Aleman. On Sunday, June 14, deputies found Aleman at his home and arrested him on the outstanding warrant, according to EPCSO.

According to jail records, Aleman secured bail with a surety bond and was freed the same day.
