A trio of young men were taken into custody on drug charges after they parked outside a Lady Lake apartment with marijuana, cocaine, and a stolen gun.

Officers approached a suspicious gray Kia Rio in the parking area of Rolling Acres Apartments in Lady Lake around 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a Lady Lake Police Department arrest report. The occupants, 21-year-old De’Quante Amari Eugene Denson of Lady Lake, 20-year-old Isaiah Jamal Gray of Belleview, and 18-year-old Matthew Alexander Wing of Weirsdale, all provided information when asked.

Gray was removed from the vehicle after a check with dispatch found that he had an arrest warrant for marijuana possession in Putnam County. He then informed the authorities about a felony amount of marijuana and a concealed handgun in the vehicle. Denson and Wing were also evacuated from the vehicle, according to the report.

As Denson got out, the cops discovered a substantial amount of marijuana in a bag between the passenger seat and the door. More marijuana rested on a tray on the floorboard. The officers searched the vehicle, beginning with the bag and tray containing 42.73 grams of marijuana, according to the report.

Gray carried a black backpack with his ID, a plastic baggie containing 76.42 grams of marijuana, a tiny scale, and $91 in cash. A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm semi-automatic handgun was found underneath the driver’s seat. It had one chambered round and a magazine with 11 additional rounds. According to the report, dispatch confirmed the theft from Clearwater.

Another rucksack, this time gray and within Wing’s grasp, held a wallet containing his social security card and other cards bearing his name. According to the report, officers located a plastic baggie containing 6.92 grams of cocaine, two plastic baggies containing 2.88 grams of marijuana, a metal grinder with one gram of marijuana residue, rolling papers, a big scale, and $130 in cash.

All three individuals were arrested and brought into the Lake County Jail. Denson was charged with possession of marijuana (more than 20 grams) and drug paraphernalia but was released after posting a $3,500 bond.

Gray was charged with possessing a stolen handgun, marijuana (more than 20 grams), and drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting the $6,500 bond.

Wing was accused of possessing cocaine, marijuana (under 20 grams), and drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting the $4,500 bond.
