COLTON, Calif. – A toddler died Thursday evening when he fell from a moving vehicle in Colton, police said.
Officers responded to the scene just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of South Mount Vernon Avenue and Centerpointe Drive.
Police said that when officers arrived, they learned a 1-year-old boy had fallen from a moving vehicle. The child had been riding with his parent, investigators said.
A local hospital treated the boy, who later died.
The Colton Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team and its detective division are investigating the incident. Police told Eyewitness News on Friday that they have not arrested or detained anyone.
