A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody after a major dispute turned violent, with one individual being stabbed several times.
At 8:17 p.m. on Wednesday, Jacksonville police responded to a report of an altercation in the 1000 block of South Clay Avenue.
According to a police report, approximately a half-dozen policemen arrived to investigate a disturbance involving a huge crowd.
One juvenile was cited for fighting. Many of those involved fled as police arrived, but will be apprehended once they are located, according to authorities.
A juvenile kid who chased one of the suspects was arrested in the 300 block of East Morton Avenue on a battery charge. He was suspected of inciting a brawl and striking the victim, according to a police report.
According to police, the 17-year-old boy was detained at 9:51 p.m. on a charge of aggravated violence resulting in grave bodily harm. He was accused of stabbing a 21-year-old male “numerous times,” resulting in significant injuries.
The victim’s health was unknown Thursday.
Police said the inquiry was ongoing.
