A four-vehicle incident in southwest suburban Orland Park on Monday morning killed one person and injured numerous others.
The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. near 149th Street and LaGrange Road.
According to the Orland Park Fire District, the incident included four automobiles, three of which were severely damaged. One person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Three more people were hurt in varying degrees of severity. They were sent to local hospitals.
LaGrange Road was closed for many hours while workers investigated. Drivers were instructed to find alternative routes.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
