A male juvenile has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of an infant girl, Los Angeles County officials revealed Tuesday night.
Officers from the Claremont Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Lynoak Drive shortly after 11:30 a.m. to complaints of a medical emergency.
“Upon arrival, officers determined that an infant had been thrown to the floor by a juvenile at the residence,” police officials stated in a press release. “Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the infant to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Centre for emergency medical treatment.”
According to authorities, the infant girl was taken to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where she died.
The kid was detained on the scene and transferred to the Claremont Police Department prison.
Investigators claimed he was later transferred to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall and detained on suspicion of murder.
Authorities have not identified him because he is a juvenile. The arraignment hearing is planned for July 2.
