An Ocala man has been officially identified as the winner of a $1 million scratch-off ticket purchased at a local liquor store, following another Marion County resident who recently claimed a winning $10 million ticket.

The state of Florida just confirmed Richard Carr as the winner of the winning ticket, which he purchased on March 26 at Marion Liquor, 3951 S Pine Avenue, Ocala.

According to Florida Statute 24.1051, the names of lottery winners who claim prizes worth $250,000 or more are protected from public disclosure for 90 days after the award is claimed.

According to Marion County property records, Carr bought a.43-acre parcel in Anthony for $85,000 in May 2026, shortly after receiving the big windfall.

Carr is the second Marion County citizen in recent days to be publicly revealed as a significant lottery winner since the state’s 90-day confidentiality period expired.
