2 people hurt in head-on crash in west Miami-Dade

Two people were hurt Thursday in a head-on collision on Southwest Eighth Street and Southwest 157th Avenue in West Miami-Dade.

The collision involved a pickup vehicle and an SUV.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, firefighters arrived to find one individual stuck inside one of the automobiles and had to rescue them.

First responders confirmed that two victims were transferred by ground to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

The road was stopped for many hours Thursday, but all lanes have since reopened.
