Four teenagers were taken into custody during a mass shooting on Hilton Head Beach on Independence Day.
Jayden Hawes, 18, faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace.
Marcello Royal, 17, faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and aggravated breach of peace.
Quazeir Davis, 17, faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and aggravated breach of peace.
Christopher Capers, 17, was charged as an accessory after the fact.
Officials announced on Sunday that a fifth individual was also facing charges, although the person was not identified.
Beaufort County authorities got many calls just after 8:00 p.m. about a gunfire near Coligny Beach.
Deputies arrived to the area and discovered eight victims with non-fatal gunshot wounds.
The victims received medical assistance at several hospitals.
During their investigation, Beaufort County deputies discovered a dispute between two separate parties on the public beach.
During the altercation, bullets were fired, and the culprits escaped.
Deputies were able to identify and hold the suspects, and the four teen guys were apprehended following additional interrogation.
Several guns were also found during the investigation.
Authorities said the incident is still under investigation, and additional charges are pending.
Although the investigation is underway, authorities claim there is no current threat to the public.
