A man is facing charges after an online predator hunting organization in Fayette County approached him while he was attempting to connect with what he thought was a child.

According to the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, Robert Wayne Jordan, 47, attempted to meet with what he thought was a 12-year-old and their mother at a home on Craig Street in Uniontown to engage in sexual conduct.

When Jordan arrived, there was no child in the house, and he was challenged by members of the online group Predator Poachers.

According to the DA’s office, members of the organization rented the property and communicated with Jordan through decoys. The group then presented detectives with evidence, such as surveillance video and text messages.

Jordan is being held without bail in the Fayette County Jail.
