A 23-year-old man was detained on Monday for allegedly attacking a 55-year-old woman near a bike path.

According to Dayton Police Department Sgt. Roberta Bailey, workers were dispatched to the 600 block of Greenmount Boulevard around 3 a.m. to respond to a reported assault.

Two days later, on Wednesday, the 23-year-old was arrested in relation to the alleged assault.

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office recommended felony kidnapping charges against the guy on Friday, citing his alleged acts. He is now in Montgomery County Jail.

Detectives from the Dayton Police Department’s Family Justice Center are actively investigating the event.

The 911 caller repeatedly yelled for help and stated that she was “going to die”. Dispatch inquired about her location, and she said that she had no idea.

“I was right on Shroyer [Road], and we were strolling down it before turning left. We were traveling from Wilmington, which would be behind us. Then we went towards [unintelligible] and took a left onto the bike path. “And then we went down that bike path, and he attacked me,” she yelled again. “I’m not sure where I am right now. “I am standing in front of someone’s apartment building.”

She informed dispatch she was afraid and had no idea where the man had gone. She said the man was riding a bike. She claimed he rode a lovely woman-style bicycle that made frequent squeaking noises.

“I punched him in the face a lot, so he’s obviously injured. “I kicked him,” she recounted, “and fought really hard…” I can’t believe nobody came out. “I’ve been screaming for rescue.

When Dispatch inquired if he had a gun, she stated he didn’t know.

She explained that the man had asked her for help finding an apartment before attacking her while they were strolling. Dispatch requested a description of the man; she stated that he had blonde hair and provided what clothes he was wearing.

“He did not rape me or anything. I’ve got him. He just ripped my bra and things like that. “He did not rape me; he attempted, but I escaped,” the caller stated. “I screamed so loudly and no one stood up. I can’t believe it. Why aren’t people helping? I’m terrified, ma’am. I need someone here with me.”

She claimed she gouged his eyes “really good” when he punched her in the head. She claimed he had previously attempted to seize her cellphone but was successful in throwing it away.

“I’ve never seen him around [here] ever,” replied the woman.
