A Central Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering and attempting to rape his girlfriend’s 93-year-old mother, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
According to an SAO release issued on Tuesday, the man, Javier Rosado Martinez, 58, committed the conduct in 2022.
At the time, Orange County deputies reported that the woman was dropped off at her senior living facility after celebrating her 93rd birthday with family. Investigators observed that this is when she received a phone call from Martinez.
The following day, she was discovered dead.
Investigators stated that she was discovered naked, which was unusual for her when she went to bed, with a blanket covering her chest and a pillow shoved against her face.
“The medical examiner said the cause of death was strangulation and blunt force trauma to her torso, and her manner of death is homicide,” Sergeant Joe Covelli said.
