A teenage girl was detained Thursday after officers said she was performing donuts in an empty parking lot in Far East El Paso before losing control and crashing her car.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, 17-year-old Kaely Ochoa was detained and charged with reckless driving after detectives recognized her as the driver of the vehicle who was speeding and turning 360 degrees in a parking lot on the 12200 block of Ashtabula Avenue on Wednesday.
Authorities suspect that Ochoa lost control of the car while performing the stunts, which caused it to hit a curb, roll over, and end up on its roof.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there were six other individuals in the car with Ochoa when the prank went awry; fortunately, they appear to have only minor injuries.
The aftermath of the incident was documented on the popular social media account @therealfitfamelpaso.
