The Cleveland Division of Police Fourth District and Cleveland EMS responded to a report of a shooting Friday evening.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at 2885 Hampton Road, in the Hampton Apartments.
When cops arrived, they found a 48-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Cleveland EMS carried the man to University Hospitals, where he was treated for minor injuries and is stable.
Officers contacted the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) for help, which established that an incident had occurred amongst a group of individuals prior to the guy being shot.
Police said RTCC gave officers a description of the suspect, verifying that he fled the area and entered nearby buildings.
Officers promptly set up a perimeter, and during the investigation, they discovered the suspected gunman hiding in one of the units.
Detectives obtained a search warrant, and the suspect’s firearm was found in the flat.
The suspect, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Cuyahoga County Jail and is now awaiting charges, according to Cleveland Police.
The Cleveland Police Crime Scene Unit examined the scene for additional evidence.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no other information is available.
