A Baltimore man was sentenced Wednesday to drug trafficking and firearm crimes in connection with a local drug trafficking investigation, according to the U.S Attorney’s Office.
Davon Taylor, 35, received an eight-year plus one-month term, followed by five years of supervised release, for possessing controlled narcotics with the intent to distribute and possessing a handgun in connection with drug trafficking.
Officials also stated that Taylor admitted his offense violated the rules of his federal supervised release.
On April 9, 2025, law enforcement authorities used surveillance cameras to monitor “the panyard,” a vast parking area in northwest Baltimore.
Agents observed Taylor arrive at the spot and conduct drug transactions before removing an object from his belt.
Taylor then put the object in a pizza box on top of a recycling bin, according to court filings.
Authorities apprehended Taylor and discovered a handgun loaded with 12 rounds of ammo that had been reported stolen in May 2022.
During a check of the area, authorities recovered a bag containing many plastic bags holding various vials and bottles of fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base.
Agents also discovered a digital scale containing white residue and $1,549 in cash, according to officials.
