According to Juarez officials, a 19-year-old man was arrested by State Secretariat of Public Security (SSPE) agents following an investigation into a killing in Ciudad Juárez on August 1.
On August 1, a man was killed in a parking lot near the intersection of Óscar Flores Sánchez and Zaragoza boulevards after being injured by a handgun projectile inside a vehicle. The man later died of his injuries.
As officials continued their investigation, on August 8, investigators discovered a blue vehicle at the intersection of Professor Esperanza Reyes Sánchez and De la Roca streets that matched the description from the homicide.
Officials say agents stopped the driver, Alejandro B. C., who is 19 years old.
During the vehicle search, three transparent plastic wraps containing the claimed narcotic were discovered. Alejandro was arrested on drug-related charges.
Similarly, the vehicle Alejandro was driving was impounded by authorities due to its possible involvement in the homicide investigation. The detainee and secured elements were turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office, Northern Zone, for further investigation.
The arrest, according to officials, was the outcome of an investigation and follow-up work conducted by SSPE agents as part of the strategy to handle high-impact offenses.
