A lucky lottery player purchased a $1 million ticket in Northeast Ohio.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Village Gas Station in Milan, according to an Ohio Lottery press release.

The winning $30 Wild Cash Tripler Scratch-Off gave the winner a prize of $40,000 every year for 25 years. The Windfall Fairfield Trust, represented by Joseph M. Nixon, Esq., collected the huge $1 million prize.

Instead of the $1 million annuity, the trust chose to accept a one-time cash payment of $500,000. After paying the required 26.75% federal and Ohio state taxes, the trust will receive $366,250.

Lottery fever is not limited to the Buckeye State. The Powerball prize for Wednesday night’s drawing has surpassed $1 billion, making it the highest so far this year.
