Operation Metro Booming resulted in the arrest of a Jacksonville motel for drug sales.
According to local police enforcement, Jacksonville cops have responded to several calls for service at the Metro Inn on Golfair Boulevard involving drug activities, violence, theft, and other illegal behavior throughout the years.
In January 2026, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit began a long-term undercover investigation into narcotics sales at the Brentwood-area property. Undercover police spent several months buying synthetic drugs known as “Flakka” from people selling out of the motel.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested 11 people: 44-year-old Zabarin Love, 37-year-old Shameka Reed, 38-year-old Marquis Williams, 32-year-old Kayla Dixon, 21-year-old Daniel White, 32-year-old Waymond Hamilton, 37-year-old Tiffany Charles, 37-year-old Michael Handy, 31-year-old Alea Smith, 36-year-old Shatoria Harrison, and 48-year-old Troyane Pinkard.
“These arrests have disrupted drug activity at this problem property, but our work is not over,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated. “We remain determined to hold drug dealers accountable and make our neighborhoods safer. One of our lead detectives on the case recognized the issues from his time as a patrol officer and made it his personal goal to clean up the trouble locations.”
Operation Metro Booming is another example of the tireless efforts to combat drug trafficking and other forms of criminality in the community.
Jacksonville police warn the community that if they witness suspicious or illegal drug activity in their neighborhood, they should report it to 904.630.0500. “Your information helps us protect our community,” JSO wrote. “These investigations often take time to develop, but trust us, we’re on it.”
