2 people dead in fatal car crash in Town of Chautauqua

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported that two people died in a deadly accident between two vehicles in the Town of Chautauqua on Thursday.

Authorities arrived at the scene on Route 430 just after 3:30 p.m. The investigation revealed that a car driven by 23-year-old Alexander Morelli of Meadville, PA, was going eastbound and failed to keep right, crossing a double solid center line. He collided with a westbound car driven by Doug Griffith, 51, of Massena, New York.

Both suspects were pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department stated that they were aided by the North Lake Fire Department, Sherman Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS, and the Chautauqua County Coroner’s Office.
