A man and woman are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in the east valley Monday afternoon, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Lt. Robert Price said police got a 911 call at 3:30 p.m. from a child who said she returned home from school to find her mother and father shot in an apartment in the 4900 block of South Nellis Boulevard near Tropicana Avenue.
Officers arrived and found a man and woman in their mid-30s with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced deceased on the scene.
According to Price, the man and woman were husband and wife but had been apart for “a while.” Price stated that the man forced his way into the flat and waited for the woman, whom he fatally shot before turning the gun on himself.
