Nearly two years after an initial arrest warrant was issued, a Columbus woman is now in police custody on felonious assault allegations dating from 2023.
Kimaya Gibson, now 29, is suspected of shooting Saqualla Clark in a North Columbus grocery store before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred on November 24, 2023, at the Giant Eagle, 2900 Stelzer Road.
Clark was admitted to Mount Carmel East in stable condition. She named Gibson as the shooter and said that they are linked.
On November 25, 2023, Clark definitely identified Gibson in a photo line-up supplied by investigating detectives.
A warrant was promptly issued for Gibson’s arrest, but there have been no developments on the case until today.
Gibson was arrested on Thursday.
She was arraigned in Franklin County on Friday morning.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled on September 4 at 9 a.m.
