Two people, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a man in Poway last month, authorities said.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on August 14 near the 13300 block of Poway Road.
According to investigators, three men were in a violent street gang quarrel when one of them pulled out a revolver and fired three shots.
Authorities say one gunshot injured a man in the leg.
The victim drove away from the scene and was brought to a hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Deputies from the Poway Sheriff’s Station rushed to the shooting, but both suspects had fled the scene.
An additional investigation led officials to identify the suspects as Angel Cedillo-Martinez, 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile, according to the sheriff’s office.
On August 19, deputies spotted Cedillo-Martinez in the 12400 block of Stowe Drive in Poway. He was detained on accusations of attempted murder.
The 17-year-old suspect was discovered and detained on September 3 in the 15500 block of Poway Road on charges of attempted murder.
There are no outstanding suspects, and authorities claim there is no threat to the community.
The firearm thought to have been used in the incident has not been retrieved. The investigation is underway.
