It’s not every day that a trip to the gas station turns someone into a millionaire, but that’s exactly what occurred recently after purchasing a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, the IASACO Trust of Quincy won a $2 million prize in the “$25,000,000 Mega Money” $50 scratch ticket game.
The trust, represented by trustee David Spillane, chose to take its award in the form of a single payment of $1,300,000 (before taxes).
The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, 386 Main St., Melrose. The retailer will receive a $20,000 bonus for the sale of this ticket. 25,000,000 Mega Money has two $25,000,000, two $2,000,000, and six $1,000,000 prizes left.
