A 5-year-old boy was reunited with his father after police reported that his biological mother abducted him from a daycare in Green Township just after noon on Thursday.
Green Township cops called to a daycare on Bridgetown Road for a reported child abduction after witnesses claimed a woman pushed past employees, took the child, and fled in a car. Witnesses said that the motorist crossed the grass to avoid being stopped.
Officers identified the suspect as Jodi Littlefield, 34, and stated that a Domestic Violence Civil Protection Order had determined her to be a danger to the child. According to police, the order forbade Littlefield from going within 500 feet of him or making contact with him except in extremely limited situations.
A BOLO with the vehicle description was distributed to law enforcement organisations across Hamilton County. About an hour later, Cincinnati police found the SUV near Mt Adams. Littlefield refused to stop, according to authorities, but was eventually arrested by Cincinnati officers.
Police claimed the boy was unharmed and had been reunited with his father.
Green Township police charged Littlefield with violating a protective order, interfering with custody, and felony counts of kidnapping and burglary. Cincinnati police accused her of child endangerment, resisting arrest, and felony failure to cooperate.
She is being jailed in the Hamilton County Justice Centre.
