A Leesburg man was taken into custody on violence charges after allegedly hurling an Xbox at a group home employee.
Officers responded to a battery at a Leesburg group home around 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch reported that Dominic Kenny Solomon, a 20-year-old resident, threw an Xbox at an employee.
The employee stated that he was seated on the couch in the living area when he instructed Solomon to fill the empty water jug in the kitchen. Solomon then rushed out of his room and hurled the Xbox at him, striking the back of his right arm. This resulted in a slight scrape, according to the report.
While officers were still at the group home, Solomon called dispatchers and asked to meet with law enforcement at Taco Bell, 641 N 14th St. The officers arrived and were informed that Solomon did not get along with the staff. He claimed the employee was verbally abusive and provoked him to react, according to the report.
Solomon stated that he threw what he assumed to be a space heater at the employee but missed. He wanted to hit the employee with the console, according to the complaint.
The cops then arrested Solomon on a charge of simple violence and put him into Lake County Jail. He was released after paying a $1,000 bond.
