Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Rochelle over the weekend is now $200,000 richer.
According to the Illinois Lottery, a Lucky Day Lotto ticket purchased at Love’s Travel Stop on 400 Steward Road matched all five numbers in the midday drawing on Saturday, September 12.
The winning numbers were 14, 19, 27, 38, and 43.
The $200,000 prize was actually won twice during the same drawing. A second winning ticket for $200,000 was sold at a Circle K in Crete.
Love’s Travel Stop will get a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, which equates to 1% of the jackpot.
Saturday’s winners follow a string of previous Lucky Day Lotto jackpot victories in Illinois. Winning tickets during Labor Day weekend included a $550,000 jackpot in St. Charles, a $200,000 prize in Chicago, and a $100,000 reward acquired online.
The Illinois Lottery reports that more than 8 million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold statewide this year, totaling more than $48 million in rewards.
The holder of the Rochelle ticket has one year from the drawing date to receive their prize. Lottery officials urge that winners sign the back of their tickets and store them safely until they are ready to submit a claim.
Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only lottery game that draws twice a day, between 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m. The jackpots start at $100,000.
