Good news: some welcome financial relief in your utility bill is available to residents who qualify.
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is offering eligible customers a one-time $200 credit through their program FPL Saving Steps.
What’s FPL Saving Steps?
The FPL Saving Steps program “combines energy-saving education with a one-time $200 bill credit and is available to a broad range of households, including seniors, working families and others,” according to its website. “Customers who may not qualify for government assistance are encouraged to explore FPL Saving Steps and see if they qualify for support.”
How to qualify
The process to ensure that you qualify is straight forward. If you already have received LIHEAP, EHEAP or FPL Care To Share in the last 12 months, go here and skip to step 4. FPL says you’ll receive confirmation in 60 days.
If you have not received any type of assistance in the last 12 months, you will need to verify your household income with FPL’s agency partner here.
Note: This bill credit is only available once per account or service address. So if you’ve already received it, you won’t get it again.
