Nowhere To Run: Polk County Fugitive Caught at Flagler County Gas Station Carrying Pockets of Pills

Thursday, deputies spotted a 34‑year‑old man from Ormond Beach at a nearby gas station and took him into custody on an out‑of‑county warrant.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Problem Area Crime Enforcement Unit moved in and arrested Domenick Latella, who was already facing an active Polk County fugitive warrant for grand theft.

During the search, deputies discovered two Suboxone pills and one and a half Xanax tablets tucked in his pocket.

The find led to two additional charges for possession of a controlled substance, joining the pending felony grand‑theft warrant.

Deputies booked Latella at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he now sits on a $10,000 bond.

“He tried to run from Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd’s long arm of the law, but we guess he didn’t know that we work closely with law enforcement agencies across the state and country to put criminals behind bars where they belong,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Criminals, if you think you can commit crimes somewhere else and come into Flagler County to lay low, you’re very wrong.”
