CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Expect delays and plan detours next week, as road crews perform scheduled highway work on several major corridors, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 advises.
Lane restrictions will run from Sunday, Oct. 11, through Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, the agency says. The work will affect sections of US 19/US 98 and US 41 (North Florida Avenue), with both daytime and overnight lane closures.
On US 19/US 98, drivers will face two work zones. From south of West Veterans Drive to south of West River Glen Court, crews will close the left lane in each direction from Monday, Oct. 12, to Friday, Oct. 16, daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Further along US 19/US 98, overnight work will occur between Kings Bay Drive and Northwest Snug Harbor Road, with lane closures from Sunday, Oct. 11, through Thursday, Oct. 15, each night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
US 41 (North Florida Avenue) will also see roadwork at East 127th Avenue, where daytime lane closures will apply from Monday, Oct. 12, to Friday, Oct. 16, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
FDOT urges drivers in these zones to slow down, stay alert for workers and equipment, and allow extra time for both morning and evening trips.
