Orlando Woman Takes Home $10.4M Lump Sum in Florida Scratch-Off Win

An Orlando woman won the top prize of $15 million after scratching off a winning lottery ticket purchased on West Church Street, according to state lottery officials.

May Hall, 59, went to the Florida Lottery’s Orlando District Office on June 15 to turn in her winning ticket for the $30 game “300X THE CASH.” Rather than receiving the whole annuity over time, Hall chose a single, lump-sum payout of $10,430,000.00.

According to records, she purchased the ticket at West Church Food Mart, which is located at 2503 W. Church Street in Orlando.

The game Hall played, FLORIDA 300X THE CASH, was released in September 2022. It has four top prizes of $15 million and over $1 billion in total cash rewards, with the overall odds of winning set at 1 in 2.93.

According to agency estimates, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $51 billion to state education since its inception, including sponsoring the Bright Futures Scholarship Program for nearly a million students attending colleges, universities, and technical institutions.

According to the organization, 99 percent of its revenue returns to the state economy in the form of player rewards, education financing, and commissions paid to over 13,600 businesses. Since 1988, the lottery has awarded more than $110 billion in prizes and created over 4,900 millionaires.
