Toledo Police, U.S. Marshals locate three missing children in Toledo

Toledo Police and US Marshals discovered three missing children in Toledo on Thursday.

On October 15, authorities discovered a 7-month-old baby, a 14-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl, according to a statement from the United States Marshals Service. The children have since been transferred to the custody of local authorities.

The inquiry began in March of this year, when the 16-year-old girl was reported missing to Toledo police. Officials called her a “critically missing” child. In July, the United States Marshals Service assisted with the investigation.

According to the US Marshals, investigators received new information Thursday that led them to the 1000 block of Artis Place in East Toledo, where the teen and 7-month-old were discovered. During the investigation, the 14-year-old girl was discovered during a car stop near Heatherdowns and Royal Haven.

“The importance of discovering and retrieving missing and endangered children in our communities cannot be overstated. “The risk and potential harm they face is significant, and the longer they go unrecovered, the greater the risk,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot. These children are protected tonight, and that is what is most important.”

Additional information about the circumstances was not provided.

It is unknown if anyone will face prosecution in relation with the missing children.
