Douglas County, Carson City Emergency Management, and regional partners will conduct a wildfire evacuation exercise near Clear Creek Tahoe on Monday, April 20.
The test will include sending three emergency alert notifications at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.
This is only an exercise, and no real wildfire or evacuation order will be issued.
Residents will receive notifications through calls, emails, or text messages, depending on their emergency alert account settings.
Douglas County officials say the exercise aims to determine which residents receive the alerts and to identify any overlap in delivery.
