Nevada Highway Patrol probes fatal crash on U.S. 50 in Douglas County Sunday

A portion of U.S. 50 in Douglas County closed early Sunday after a two-vehicle collision left one person dead and three others with serious injuries, officials said.

At about 4:47 a.m. on April 19, 2026, the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash along U.S. 50 between State Route 28 and Glenbrook Road.

U.S. 50 closed in both directions between State Route 28 and Glenbrook Road, with officials expecting the shutdown to last three to four hours.

Troopers said two vehicles were involved in the crash, which resulted in one confirmed death. Three others were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that no additional individuals were involved.
