A man was critically injured in a violent assault in North Portland, prompting police to arrest a suspect now facing multiple felony charges.
Authorities identified the suspect as Christopher James Parkins, 39, who has been charged with attempted murder, assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. He is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center.

According to investigators, the victim—whose identity has not been released—entered a nearby restaurant on Hayden Island with a severe neck wound. Reports indicate the injury was so deep that it exposed the victim’s trachea.
