Two suspects, including a juvenile, have been taken into custody in connection with a series of aggravated robberies tied to fraudulent Facebook Marketplace sales across Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
One of the accused has been identified by police as Joshua Landry, 23. He was accused of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon at the 487th State District Court.
A second suspect, a juvenile, was also charged. Because of the suspect’s age, authorities have stated that no identifying information will be provided.
Investigators claimed the robberies followed a similar strategy.
According to investigators, Landry would offer items for sale on Facebook Marketplace and negotiate prices with purchasers online before setting up in-person encounters.
When the victims arrived to complete the transactions, investigators reported that the suspects flashed a weapon and robbed the complainants before escaping.
Following up on the first investigation, a detective from the Houston Police Robbery Division identified Landry and the minor.
Authorities stated both defendants were charged with aggravated robbery on March 9, 2026, with an additional charge filed April 3.
Warrants were then obtained for both arrests.
On March 10, officers from the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers devised an operation plan aimed at the juvenile suspect.
During the operation, a DPS trooper attempted to hold the juvenile, who escaped on foot before being apprehended and taken to a juvenile detention facility.
Officers from the Houston Police Department’s Southeast Crime Suppression Team located Landry on March 30.
According to authorities, Landry was arrested without incident and put into the Harris County Jail on an aggravated robbery warrant.
