Police arrested 24 people during a sex offender compliance check operation across Clark County, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The 2026 summer multi-jurisdictional sex offender verification operation ran from May 11 through May 15. Authorities conducted in-person checks to make sure registered sex offenders throughout the county were following registration requirements.

During the operation, officers contacted 2,170 registered sex offenders. Metro police said the effort led to 11 arrests for violations of sex offender registration laws, along with 13 arrests tied to outstanding warrants.

Police identified those arrested for failing to comply with sex offender registration laws as David Conway, 45; Darnell Banks, 75; Charles Johnson, 55; Gino Mondino, 42; Ernest Ness, 52; Lamar Stringer, 24; Joseph Curtis, 41; David Morales, 36; Jermaine Faithe, 39; Diandre Mosby, 42; and Derrick Wheat, 44.

Several agencies took part in the multi-jurisdictional operation, including the Sex Offender Apprehension Team, the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Sex Offender Unit, the Henderson Police Department, Boulder City Police Department, North Las Vegas Police Department, and the Clark County School District Police Department.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also reminded registered sex offenders that they are required to verify their addresses with law enforcement based on their assigned tier level.

  • Tier 3 offenders are required to check in quarterly
  • Tier 2 offenders are required to check in bi-annually
  • Tier 1 offenders are required to check in annually

The public has access to Offender Watch, a website and mobile app that provides access to the addresses of registered sex offenders in the area. Click here to visit the website. Metro police said this can be a great tool for parents to identify homes they may want their children to avoid.
