Two additional suspects were taken into custody in California in connection with a tragic Las Vegas shooting that killed a man and injured his wife, according to Metro police.
Kyree Brown, 20, was arrested in Riverside, California on April 9 and is being held in custody pending extradition to Las Vegas.
On April 29, police detained DaeQuan McGee, 18, in Inglewood, California. On May 19, he was extradited back to Las Vegas and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and child abuse, according to records.
Court records identified him as a co-defendant in the fatal drug deal shooting.
Miles Spivey, 18, was arrested in early April on several felony charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, multiple counts of first-degree kidnapping with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure or vehicle, and child abuse or neglect.
On March 30, about 9:45 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Sky Pointe Drive. When authorities arrived, they discovered a man and a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. According to police, the male victim, 30-year-old Deven Mays, was declared dead at the scene. The female victim was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the arrest complaint, Spivey contacted Mays on Instagram and asked to buy a quarter pound of marijuana from him. According to authorities, Mays traveled to an apartment complex to meet Spivey, accompanied by his wife and their 4-year-old child.
According to an arrest report, during the meeting, the suspects pulled out firearms and fired multiple shots before departing the scene.
According to authorities, Spivey was at the area with a friend named McGee when Mays and his family arrived to sell them marijuana. According to the arrest report, Spivey and McGee have a history of conducting robberies together.
McGee is slated to appear in court on June 4, while Spivey is set to appear on June 24.
