An apparently obsessed villager has been sentenced for an attack on her estranged gal pal who refused to rekindle their love engagement.

Julie Kay Greene, 64, has been sentenced to two years probation on counts of stalking, assault, and trespassing. She’s also paid $2,433 in fines and court fees.

Greene was arrested in December after allegedly attacking the woman at her house in Monarch Grove. The woman had gone to tremendous efforts to end the relationship.

The two women started dating in 2022, but the other lady noticed that Greene became “controlling and manipulative.” According to a Wildwood Police Department complaint, the lady informed Greene she wanted to stop their relationship because of her religious beliefs. The lady informed police that Greene reacted to the split by threatening to contact her family and friends and expose her sexual orientation. They maintained an on-again, off-again romance even while the lady attempted to separate herself from Greene. The woman stated that she thought she needed to “tolerate” Greene in order to keep her sexual orientation a secret.

In October, the woman alerted Greene that her house was for sale. Greene grew incensed and screamed at the woman. Greene followed up the same day with 69 text messages to the woman, “threatening, belittling, and harassing her about her decision to move,” according to police reports. In the days that followed, she got over 100 text messages and 40 emails from Greene. She eventually issued Greene a cease and desist letter.

Things came to a head when the woman arrived home from the grocery shop and parked in her garage. Greene approached her but was promptly told to leave the premises. Greene forced her way into the house and took the woman’s phone. The woman attempted to leave, but Greene blocked her route, grabbed her shoulders, and demanded that she “talk to her.”

Greene once pinned the woman on the ground with her knees against her thighs. Greene covered the woman’s mouth when she tried to cry for aid. Greene let her up and started pouring a drink. The woman dashed for the garage and hit the opener. Greene followed and pressed the button to close the garage door. The woman used her foot on the garage door sensor to prevent the door from lowering. Greene attempted to drag the woman back inside, but she lost her footing, and both women tumbled to the ground. They were able to go back into the residence, where Greene was holding the woman down on the couch. Greene eventually put the woman’s phone on the kitchen counter and departed.

The woman stated that her “whole body was hurting” as a result of the fall, and she “had to lay down.” It took her 24 hours to inform law enforcement because she was “in fear for her life” as Greene’s behavior became more unpredictable.
