Man wanted in Nevada caught in Cook County
Jonathan Costantino, 35, was apprehended on Wednesday by the Cook County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, which collaborated with the US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Officials claimed the arrest was the result of a collaborative effort with the United States Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, which warned Illinois investigators that Costantino may have fled Nevada and was lodging in the western suburbs.
Investigators also discovered that he may have been driving a 2026 gray Kia with Nevada plates. On Wednesday, task force officers discovered the vehicle parked in the 2100 block of Division Street in Melrose Park and established surveillance.
Around 7:10 a.m., officers saw a man matching Costantino’s description exit a neighboring building and proceed toward the vehicle. Authorities claimed cops approached him, established his identity, and arrested him without incident.
Costantino is wanted in Nevada on accusations of felony robbery, battery by strangulation, coercion constituting domestic violence, and domestic battery, according to authorities.
