A Florida woman is sentenced to prison for making political threats in social media videos.
According to the evidence given at trial, Desiree Doreen Segari, 41, of Sarasota, released a TikTok video on August 17, 2025, calling for MAGA supporters to be shot on sight.
Segari said, “So if we all get our guns and use our Second Amendment right…and you see somebody with a MAGA hat, ‘pew pew’—that’s what we do; that’s the way; it’s the only way.”
Segari used hand movements to simulate gunfire while saying “pew pew.”
She also said, “Put them back in their basements, make them scared again to be racist, homophobic, and terrible, just awful [expletive],” and simply, “MAGA people deserve to be terrified and scared to walk in the streets because they should know that real Americans are going to [mouths expletive] kill them.”
Segari captioned the video, “#seemagapewpewmaga is starting a new trend; hope it catches on.” Kindly spread the word. Share this video. Re-post it. Use the hashtag across the internet. Let’s go, guys. “It’s time to fight back in a potentially effective way.”
The next day, Segari shared another TikTok video in which she claimed, “See MAGA pew pew MAGA, see MAGA pew pew MAGA, see MAGA pew pew MAGA so these [expletive] know we aren’t here to play” while mimicking gun firing with hand motions.
A federal jury found Segari guilty.
U.S. District Judge Katheryn Kimball Mizell sentenced Desiree Doreen Segari, 41, of Sarasota, to 14 months in federal prison for interstate communication of a threat to injure.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated this Florida case. Michael Sinacore, an assistant US attorney, prosecuted the case. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement. Segari was indicted on September 18, 2025.
