De’Marionne Zaquann Miller, 22, from Lexington, has been sentenced to over nine years in federal prison.

Miller pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing the pistol in connection with a narcotics trafficking offence.

On June 14, 2025, deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department responded to an apartment following reports of domestic violence. While on their way to the apartment, deputies discovered that Miller had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

As police came, Miller fled the residence with a gun and a backpack. When deputies caught up with Miller, he did not have the gun. However, after capturing Miller, deputies retraced his tracks and discovered the firearm, as well as the backpack he was carrying.

Deputies discovered cash, multiple marijuana packets, and two telephones in the seized backpack. A later search of the flat turned up a large vacuum-sealed bag of marijuana, a computerised drug scale, and ammunition.

Miller is forbidden from owning firearms or ammo due to prior convictions for escape and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Miller was sentenced to 111 months in prison, followed by three years of court-ordered supervision. There is no parole in the federal system.

The FBI Columbia Field Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigated this case.
