4 People Charged In $1 Million Cape Coral Jewelry Store Robbery

Four people have been charged in a superseding indictment in connection with the robbery of a Cape Coral jewelry store on January 6, 2026, during which more than $1 million in jewelry was stolen.

The indictment names Ivel Sanchez Rivera, 52, of Hialeah, Osmani Barrios Carrera, 37, of Hialeah, Yunior Lopez Delgado, 42, of Miami, and Alberto Perez Elias, 57, of Miami.

The individuals are charged with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, interference with commerce by robbery, and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a violent crime. The robbers broke into an empty building next to the jewelry store before shattering a wall.

The suspects allegedly held the store manager at gunpoint in order to acquire access to the safe. They stole thousands of pieces of jewelry before escaping to Miami. After conducting an investigation, authorities detained Rivera, Carrera, and Delgado.

If convicted, each defendant faces up to 20 years in federal prison. They are also facing a seven-year consecutive sentence for brandishing a pistol during the crime.

However, Elias has not been arrested and is still at large.
