Florida Man Apprehended After Allegedly Stripping Naked Inside Homegoods

A 43-year-old Florida man faces an indecent exposure charge after allegedly walking into a local retail store fully nude on Monday morning.

Around 10:45 a.m. on September 7, officers from the Cape Coral Police Department were summoned to the HomeGoods on Del Prado Boulevard South. According to dispatch records, a completely naked man entered the business before returning to his black tank top and colorful shorts.

When police arrived, witnesses told them that the man had walked to a neighboring Aldi shop. Officers responded to the scene and discovered a male matching the description standing at the door. Authorities apprehended the individual, later identified as Billy Thomas.

While taking Thomas to a patrol vehicle, officers noticed a pair of white shoes and boxer shorts near the HomeGoods door. Thomas informed police that the items were his.

According to police reports, Thomas stated that he understood why cops were summoned, alleging that both his clothes and the bicycle he was riding had started smoking. Officers did not find a bicycle at the location.

A witness inside HomeGoods told authorities that Thomas proceeded down the aisle where she was standing, stated, “I’m sorry, I have to do this,” and pulled down his pants, exposing himself. The witness later positively identified Thomas during a live appearance. A store employee also informed investigators that they spotted Thomas naked inside the facility.

Police arrested Thomas and transferred him to the Lee County Jail, where he was charged with indecent exposure.
